Our Social Justice Ministry works to educate and raise sensitivities to issues of the rights of all persons and of our concerns for environmental issues and sustainability.

The Eco-Justice Ministry team has been especially active and works to:

  • inform the congregation about environmental issues,

  • identify opportunities and means to address environmental issues as individuals and as a congregation, and

  • strengthen the understanding of the congregation and individuals of the theological basis for environmental stewardship.

This ministry works to prepare articles for our newsletter, "Thrust and Parry", maintain the "Whole Earth Information Center" bulletin board, conduct workshops on environmental issues, provide information during "Mission Minute" presentations during church services, and organize special projects for recycling, conservation, personal consumption awareness, and "green cuisine" potluck.

Parkview UCC tote bag at the beach.

Join the Parkview "Green Tote Bag Brigade", with our Church name and the UCC logo boldly printed on the side of this handy bag. The end pockets make it more versatile than most shopping bags, conveniently accommodating your water bottles, beverage cans, sunscreen and cell phone. They are still available for a suggested $3.00 donation--or whatever you care to give--every Sunday at the Church and at the Corner Stop. Use them as promotional items for your ministry at Parkview as well as for your shopping and personal use in many other ways.
