Parkview Youth Group

New Creations Ministry

Parkview has a very active youth group.

Youth Group is a safe place for middle and high school youth to be who they are. Youth group this year will be a new experience and its direction is yet to be determined.

It is a group based in a covenant formed by all of its members on the first gathering for the year. Service, education, fun, and community are all a part of the group.

This group is a place to come during a time of your life when there are a lot of spiritual questions and reformations. No answers are guaranteed, but we can help each other wrestle with the questions.

YOUTH GROUP ACTIVITIES...

Check out the Youth Group Schedule to see what is going on.

The youth group checks in with each other each week after worship. Youth and their sponsors meet for various activities from month to month. Sometimes the meetings take place at the church; other times, the group gets together at the church and then travels to another location for different activities. Check the schedule on the Youth Group Bulletin Board in the hallway at church or contact Kate Hoffmeyer, youth and young adult leader, or Penny Shuler, youth group sponsor.

Rally Day August 22 with special guests Wild Wings Environmental Education presenting Raptors of the Rockies. First part of program beginning at 10:00 for kids/youth only. Adults join at 10:30 after worship. Come celebration creation!

New Creations is a new Parkview ministry for youth. All are invited. All ages are welcome - Song-CAMP fifth graders who are too old to return to SongCamp, Parkview youth, and youth from our neighborhood.

Here are digital copies of the New Creations registration form (Word docs): English or Espanol

New Creations is in its infant stage, but so far we have explored spiritual hip-hop, and, currently, hikes on the High Plains and in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Below are a couple of images from one of our hikes. Can you identify the fossils? [Roll over each picture for an explanation.]

Sea bed that was lifted when the Rockies formed.

Dinosaur tracks ... in our own foothills!!

Next join us for an exploration of mime. Thursdays August 26- September 23. Come for a light dinner at 6 pm. Mime starts at 6:30. No experience needed! Mime will be featured in worship September 26, so join us to see what your youth have created.

We look forward to producing a musical drama in time for December.

This ministry reflects that we are all continually being created and shaped by God, and therefore we join in the creativity.
